スカイラー・カーギルさんのインスタグラム写真 - (スカイラー・カーギルInstagram)「where have you traveled and what did you like about it? . . yesterday, we docked in Strasbourg, France where we then head off into town to take a walking tour. we ended up at the Notre Dame cathedral which contains this INCREDIBLE astronomical clock! rebuilt in the early 1800s, it’s a mechanical clock that is so sophisticated and accurate that even though saturn comes around every 29 years, this clock is only off by NINE seconds. can you even believe it?!! i was absolutely floored, it was awe inspiring. . . most of all, it made me realize that i think i know a lot of things. hey, we have the internet these days... but just the amount of math, precision, and engineering to create something like this almost 200 years ago - humans are incredible. absolutely genius. and that sure as heck doesn’t come from an infinite access to information at our finger tips (much of which is false, skewed, or honestly just unnecessary.) . . heading to Germany now and i’ll be sure to post again soon cause dang. i want to remember all of this. i feel different, being in these historic places... just thankful for all that has come before and it is lifting my spirit about what we could accomplish going forward. innovation has existed for thousands of years and i’m curious to see where it will take us. .
