As many of ya'll know, I've struggled with insomnia in my adulthood. Part of that manifested as me being afraid to go to bed - something my
therapist called "sleep anxiety." I've tried many tactics, bedtime routines, and medication - nothing truly worked consistently. Have you thought that maybe the anxiety over insomnia worsened it? Or maybe that you may be a “polyphasic sleeper”? Polyphasic sleep is just taking a few 2-3 naps through out the night, still totals the 6-8 hours doctors recommend, and you go through one complete REM cycle each time. Comes from the science our military does with its soldiers, and from primitive anthropology as tribal cultures still practice this today (even in Spain, with their siesta in the afternoon and late sleep, early wake culture).
