In the 1930’s more than 10 million elephants roamed Africa. But decades of ivory poaching has dropped the savanna population to less than 300,000, moving the species dangerously close to extinction.

mayoscar6 I spent this day in an elephant sanctuary close to Chang Mai/ Thailand where we were told that only 5000 elephants are left in the whole country which was famous for it's elephants 😔
