Once I had lunch in a place where everything seemed green, except for red draping. It was in Khiva, Uzbekistan. I remember mostly the soup. It wasn’t green. More like Russian borscht that matched the colour of the material hanging overly extravagant from the ceiling. I don’t know what was showing on the television, but it was green too. We had an interesting time in Khiva, three times visiting this restaurant, where I always ate red-coloured soup.

oracle_of_optimism I recall when the iron curtain came down, reading an article about art that would start to come from countries we previously had no access. They said that the world was about to see a heck of a lot of green paintings because green paint was the cheapest and easiest to come by (for some unexplained reason)...

johnstanmeyer @oracle_of_optimism in Uzbekistan and many of the other Stan’s, the often green tones are because Islam is the predominant religion, where beautiful hues of green are often found everywhere

reycperalta Uzb is generally green,always on the go. I like walking through the streets in Tashkent even at the peak of summer, can seek refuge under tree canopy that offers free natural oxygen.🙋‍♂️

pam.gangster48 Sure Borshch soup is made with beets. Learnt to make it for a drop in center and it is amazing. Unfortunately I did not have it in this room😁😁😁
