It is Earth Day and this is probably the only “day” I truly feel the urge to share about.

Look, I am not perfect. I drive a car and I put gas in it. I buy sneakers without really wanting to think about where they were made. Yesterday I had a coffee in a to-go cup. I fly around the world. I use AC. I... The list is endless, but it’s not going to stop me from saying out loud that I am personally invested in healing the planet.
.
There are so many things happening today that we can put out hands in - coming from the world of fashion I am making a personal commitment to supporting change through my involvement in @nsifashion2030 and by celebrating initiatives & people such as @trashisfortossers and brands like @marahoffman or @veja - and in the future more incredible initiatives coming out of @atelierdore .
.
Don’t let not being perfect stop you from feeling personally invested in the healing of the planet. Do what you can, and do it now.

I took this photo in Corsica. In the Scandola Reserve, my home. A special place protected by the @unesco . Corsica is heaven on Earth. One of the most majestic places in the world. You can look down and see miles deep in the sea. Dolphins jump around you, smiling at you. It feels so pure. Many of you will dive in the warm waters of the Mediterranean this summer. I probably will.

Yet it is slowly dying. The Mediterranean is one of the most polluted seas in the world.

See, dolphins - they’re like all animals, like a three legged dog still living his life joyfully - they will keep smiling and jumping and living fully until they die. Let that not fool us.

Let’s be loving children to our mother Earth, and loving parents to all its species.

cathusa74 Garance, j’aime bien ces mots-ce n’est pas parce qu’on n’est pas parfait qu’on ne doit pas se sentir légitime à se soucier de la planète; sur le site de @blisscocotte, elle raconte comment elle a amené son fils de 7 ans dans un atelier de récup près de Toulouse; un cimetière immense d’appareils électro-ménagers... Nos amis américains sont en visite chez moi, dans les Alpes. Mon amie nous apporté pleins de cafés différents en grains. Zut, on s’aperçoit que le moulin électrique ne fonctionne pas très bien, mon amie me dit “pas grave, balance-Le et commandes-en un sur Amazon. Mais nous, on est du genre à réparer... Incompréhension... “don’t bother, just order one on Amazon..” j’ai aussi une voiture, même deux et diesel en plus, mais chez nous, si c’est réparable, on ne jette pas! Ps: j’adore te lire et ton chemin de pensée!

We’d love to put our two cents in here to add that taking action must also include not only the personal ones you shared and some others did here but also communal. We shared an article yesterday on our site @thethirlby regarding how communities of colour take the highest toll when in comes to climate change. We must include environmental injustice that’s occurring for marginalised communities alongside conversations that are thankfully picking up like reducing waste. Flint still doesn’t have clean water, and that’s just ONE example.
