@healthade’s newest flavor, jalapeño-kiwi-cucumber, just became my Summer jam!☀️ - I spent time at @exhalemiami this week in celebration of the new flavor drop and I wanted to share a bit about my experience. (Swipe to see proof of my epic massage.👌🏼) 👇🏽 I was excited when I looked at the spa menu because they offer a great deal of eastern healing practices. Eastern doctrine assess and treats the body in a holistic way instead of segmenting it into systems like we do here in the western world. I mean if you think about it, your body is a single unit that functions, when running optimally, as a perfect machine. In absolute unison. - In the western world, we go to a GI Doctor for stomach problems and a dermatologist for skin issues. We also learn about the “systems of the body” in school which implies that they are all individual of one another. Because of this, our natural inclination is to check in with the system that is experiencing symptoms. For those of you who have struggled with hormonal acne, you know first hand how an internal yet still fundamental imbalance can manifest elsewhere in the body. It’s like the body’s way of saying, “hey. hi.👋🏽 There’s something going on in here and I’m going to give you an indication in a place that you can’t ignore.” An Imbalance in your hormone levels, or endocrine system, that is manifesting on your skin. It’s one common example of how and why the body should be looked at and treated more holistically. - ☝🏼And I mean that on a mental and emotional level as well. - The two treatments that I tried were the reiki massage and acupuncture massage. 💆🏽‍♀️Reiki is an alternate form of healing, originating from Japan, that involves moving and transforming energy by way of the 7 chakras. (If you don’t know about the chakras but believe in vibes, look them up! Major healing food there!) 💉Acupuncture works with energy as well but as it relates to the organs and how blockages symptomatically manifest in/on the body. They release blocked energy, or emotions, by inserting tiny needles into energy meridians. It may sound like a bunch of whoohaa- but trust me, it’s quite a profound experience. - #healthade #reiki #acupuncture
