So this just happened. Featured in my first ever magazine.
This is for the girl who spent 8+ months in an inpatient unit, wrapped up in anorexia’s deceit for 6+ years. This is for the girl who was admitted to the ER three times for cardiac complications, visiting more hospitals than high school parties. This is for every calorie unconsumed; for every day of numbness. ⠀
If you told this girl just 3 years ago she’d be printed in a fitness magazine, she would have called you crazy. ⠀
But yet here she is. ⠀
I’m also dedicating this one for every single man and woman out there battling mental illness. Know that mental illness will ALWAYS pale in comparison to the opportunities birthed through adversity. Your story + your journey is anything but crippling. You can grow through and BEYOND anything. ⠀
And remember, my story isn’t one of recovery; for recovery denotes returning to a previous state. I wanted more - more adventure, wisdom, and of course, growth. Instead of striving for recovery, I chose a discovery. This has made all the difference.?
