Had a lively dialogue session with senior MINDEF officials and SAF officers at the 35th anniversary dinner of Temasek Society last night. Shared with the guests how my time in the SAF shaped and influenced me as a person and a leader.

The organisers graciously presented me with a memento: a slice of the muzzle brake of the M71S 155mm Howitzer, the guns which I commanded in 23 SA. The M71S entered service in 1979 and were used for 29 years before being decommissioned in 2008. I was sent off standing on an M71S during my farewell parade, so it was a nice reminder of my years in the SAF. :) – LHL (MCI Photo by Fyrol)
