Michael Phelps has nothing on athletes like this one, looming over the water of Rio de Janeiro. The French artist @jr has installed 3 giant sculptures around the city as one of the @オリンピック’ first artists in residence. His 2008 project in #Rio, in which he pasted oversize photos of the faces and eyes of women on buildings in their hillside slum, helped earn him the @TED Talks prize. The next year, he founded a cultural and education center in one of Rio’s oldest favelas. His new work complements his long-running photo series, @insideoutproject. A roving photo truck produces large-scale portraits, which his team pastes around the city.
