This is a cave deep inside Venezuela’s Tepui mountains. These chambers are filled with undiscovered rivers, channels, shafts and more that reveal major biological and mineralogical insights humans have yet to uncover. “The caves represent a snapshot of the past,” says cave explorer and geologist Francesco Sauro. “The time needed for their formation could be as long as 50 or even 100 million years.
