This is the Flatiron Building in New York City as it transitions from day to night. Photographer @stephenwilkes captures iconic locations and landscapes, snapping the same shot throughout the day and blending each moment into one image that shows the progression of time. His global project, aptly called Day to Night, aims to show us a new way of seeing and a juxtaposition that would never be possible in real life. “As technology evolves along with photography,” he says, “photographs will not only communicate a deeper meaning of time and memory, they will compose a new narrative of untold stories.” Watch his #TEDTalk at go.ted.com/daytonight
