Each Memorial Day the nature and adventure tribe gathers I Tullride, Colorado for @mountainfilm. 〰〰〰 Our family has close ties to this festival, having attended from 1999 with Alex Lowe when the boys were 3, 7 and 10 till the present. While we celebrate nature and adventure, it is the people that make this festival special. 〰〰〰 Rick Ridgeway, a friend and mentor, along with friends presented a tribute to Doug Tompkins. ?? He usually checks in on me as I still chase fire. This time I listened to Rick as he described how time slowed down. No matter how close the call returning to laughter is the final measure. @kaylabedey and @jenniloweanker share the sentiment. 〰〰〰 @paulnicklen is one heck of a wildlife photographer. Check out his work if you are not familiar. He has a knack for getting close - real CLOSE - to animals. His call to end the narwhal slaughter (just calling it for what it) is especially touching and relevant. It needs to stop. @max.lowe and @iloweanker with the serious fan adulation. 〰〰〰 @timmyoneil and I spoke to the middle school kids about nature and why it is relevant. Of course Timmy did this with humor. The world is a better place because of Timmy's energy and enthusiasm.〰〰〰 @pasang_lhamu_sherpa_akita shared her inspiring story of how she overcame being an orphan and gender bias to climb Everest and K2. May we all have the poise, grace and strength of the 2016 @natgeoadventure of the year!〰〰〰 A heartfelt thanks to @davidholbrooke for his dedication, heap respect to Nick the Sailor and the story of the "Sea Gypsies" and love to our sturdy @sam_loweanker for being with us. 〰〰〰 #neverstopexploring
