Everyone keeps asking how cold it is here on Makalu. I really can't stress enough how much cold has not been the issue. Most of the time we try to leave well before the sun hits the glacier so as not to get completely roasted by 'the Death Star'. Most of the time I stay totally covered to not get sunburnt, but today we timed it perfectly, arriving at camp 2 just in time to shed some layers and enjoy the sun's warmth a little bit before retreating into our tents for the afternoon. It's not quite the beach, but I'll take it for now, because we'll be cold soon enough - higher up we go tomorrow ???! #?? #?? @lasportivana #skimakalu2015
