Altitude hurts. 3 1/2 hours to travel just over 3km and 1200ft of vert today to reach camp 2 at 6800 meters. @adrianballinger felt fine enough to take this photo of me doubled over in pain and exhaustion. @hilareeoneill and @jimwmorrison seemed somewhere in between. None of us felt good enough to ski down because the thought of carrying our skis back up the next morning seemed torturous. Thus we walked down in perfect ski conditions, kicking ourselves but knowing it was the right call. Missing Kit DesLauriers (@kitdski) today, who had to leave early due to a serious altitude illness she experienced down lower. Our decision to ski or not pales in comparison to the one she had to make to go home early. Thinking of you Kit!
