Our Yosemite season was significantly more mellow than in the past years, despite having some really big plans. I found myself not wanting to be up high or pursue big goals in the same way I had in the past. It was confusing and hard to accept at first, but much like all of parenthood so far, I slowly learned to lean into the unexpected emotions and the patience required to continue pursuing my passion with a new lens and rearranged priorities. Lots of chill crag days with friends were more our speed this season, and I know I’ll look back in a few years and cherish the pace I allowed myself to settle into during this time.
