Day 2 #healinghearts is Upward Facing Dog, Urdhva Mukha Savanasana. Start off with a firm foundation in the pelvic floor and then lift the spine up and out of the pelvis to move into the spinal extension. Lift the sternum, breathe through the heart, roll the shoulders forward to support dropping the neck back, engage the finger tips and focus on creating space, not squeezing. The pattern that you set for this basic backbend will set up the foundation for deeper backbends so take the time to work on it here.
