These islands are blessed with a mild climate and offer tranquil hiking with vibrant autumn foliage. 🍁🥾 The first ferry takes hikers from Ishinomaki to Odomari Port on Cat Island. Cats were originally brought over to help protect the island’s silkworm farms from rats, and they now outnumber the human population by almost four to one! Fishermen also prayed to cats for a big catch, and cats are celebrated at Neko Shrine. ⛴😻 Take the connecting ferry to Ajishima Island and enjoy a beautiful swimming beach and unpaved trails through bamboo tunnels.
