This Pampas cat of Brazil is predominantly nocturnal, waiting to go on the prowl until it is safely masked by the cover of darkness. While they spend most of their time on the ground, they are skilled climbers, opting to rest up in the trees. Little is known about the social structure of the Pampas cat or how they communicate with one another, but some individuals have been observed to erect the hair along their spine when excited.
