One of the biggest reasons my clients are successful long term is because I help them find a way to work fitness into their lifestyle without sacrificing the things they love! One of my personal drawbacks when dealing with eating disorders in the past was restrictive dieting and it actually had nothing to do with food. The food was a byproduct of wanting to control something in my life because I was really unhappy which I’ve found is very common and very real with a lot of my clients. When I ditched the notion of ‘dieting’ and ‘calories in v calories out’ is when I gave myself the freedom to look at food in a completely different perspective and not something to feel guilty or afraid of.  You can 1000% still enjoy going out to eat on your health journey and each choice is a new chance. Sure, there’s going to be times where you order the chocolate cake and other times where you don’t care for it. It’s so important we recognize that we’re not stuck in the past and we shouldn’t be focusing on the future because we have no control over it. We can just make the next best decision and resume our habits the next day. Forgive yourself for imperfections, enjoy good company, live in the present moment and try to aim for the healthier options ‘most’ of the time.
