It happens every circle of our sun. All the words that had been spoken in want of our doing, they don't mean that much. We'll continue to publish stories of joy, others' desperation. The forgotten, and sharing pictures of somebody we are hoping we might be. Come the 1st, and I'll continue questioning all I do, whether this photograph of a 12-year-old boy tending camels for a wealthy owner in the Saudi Arabian desert meant much of anything. This year, Abdullah would be 19. I do not know where he is today, though I remember he told me he had hoped to finish school. All I could say to Abdullah was…"you will." In our repeated wish for happiness to those we know and those we don't, for something new, better, most of what we say is wishful thinking come next year. Like we wish poverty and inequality to end. Knowing the increase in you versus me only divides us. When we hope the past wars, the recent, will be our last, they repeat. When do we become the doers of what we know, no longer using spinelessness of words, by daring for what we could be? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (with excerpts from Jackson Brown’s “Late for the Sky”) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ from the @natgeo story #TheWellsOfMemory @outofedenwalk #SaudiArabia #camel #childlabor #fromthearchive」12月31日 14時54分 - johnstanmeyer
