Like so many places in the world, corrupt politicians in Colombia steal from public works contracts, leaving a shambles behind them. I shot the series with Kodak Tmax3200 film and developed it with the wonderfully grainy Rodinal developer in order to express a grimly gritty view of the impact of corruption on the city. I used scenes of statues wrapped up at construction sites as a symbol for the cynicism of the situation. Starting mid-August, I will hold a new workshop online through the International Center of Photographer. Over a period of eight sessions, this class will help participants forge a personal style in their photography, while improving their documentary practice. We will work intensively, in a friendly, collaborative atmosphere. Bring your ongoing projects or realize a new project during the class. Through assignments, group critiques and looking closely at the work of great photographers with a marked personal style, this class will develop your skills and vision and engage the tricky relationship between personal vision and journalistic rigor. Para este trabajo, usé la película Kodak Max 3200, y la revelé en un Ordinal, un revelador maravillosamente granoso.
