Photo by @javier_aznar_photography // Deserts are some of the most hard habitat to live on, and water is one of the most scarce resources there. Animals look for it desperately and sometimes some fall in water cisterns in search of some water. That was the case of this nice Desert Horned Viper, Cerastes cerastes, that I found trapped inside of a completely dry water cistern together with another viper. But before releasing it, at night, when temperatures are lower and the animal can find a shelter, I took this photo, since the sky was clear and starry. I carefully put it on a rock, with the milky way in the background, and with a double exposure in a single raw file, changing the aperture and focus, I took this photo.
After a few photos, the snake was released among those rocks.
