A shy and elusive species, zebra moray eels like this one @okczoo spend most of their time holed up in crevices or under ledges on the outer edges of coral reefs. It isn’t until night time that the eel will emerge to hunt, scouring the reefs in search of crab, clams, and other hard-shelled prey. While this might be difficult prey for most species to consume, the zebra moray has flat, platelike teeth which are perfect for crunching through those hard shells.
