The Leo in me has pride attached to a time for the @nikelosangeles half marathon but the trainer in me knows my true reason for doing this is to go the distance on something that’s hard for me. Running itself isn’t the hard part actually, my current fitness can carry me. Its the knee surgery I had at 15 years old after a motocross accident and was told I wouldn’t be a runner anymore that’s the hard part. I’ve been showing up for myself every day in different ways since that surgery happened so this race isn’t about time, it’s about crossing the line and being proud of my body, and proud of the work I’ve put in since that surgery to build a resilient knee.
