This bright fellow is a canopy chameleon I photographed on the island of Madagascar. Canopy chameleons are found in eastern and northeastern regions of the island, covering a rather wide range. Despite its colorful appearance, this species is not often spotted in the wild, so researchers’ knowledge about this chameleon is based on a small number of observations. While it has been spotted in open clearings, the species is generally considered to be restricted to forested areas.
