Meet the lion-tailed macaque (Macaca silenus)! It’s native to forests in India’s Western Ghats mountains and is named for the tufted tail that’s reminiscent of a lion’s tail. Both males and females have tufted tails, but those of males are more prominent. Daily life for the critter includes a lot foraging for fruits, seeds, or flowers. The primate is arboreal and spends much of its time in the tree canopy with a family group of around 10 to 20 individuals.
