One of my house dreams has always been built ins. Wether it’s shelves or sofas or any elements - I just love the permanent, utter groundedness (am I making up words?) they bring to a home. I also love that often they provide real sturdy corners where to nest and hang and drink tea for hours.

I also love the softness @sarahshermansamuel brought to all this by creating these beautiful rounded edges on the sides. And that table!!! (Sorry I am a little bit in love with my home) - I wanted to stay away from “too obvious” designer furniture. I have to say, I think in the last ten years mid century modern had taken over the world - and too often badly copied, losing its appeal. I still love it in touches but I wanted to stay away from using it too much, or putting in my home an obvious “this is a *insert famous designer name* piece“ - even if I love these pieces.

Looking a bit further helps with budget too. The only trick is to really look around really and have an eye. So when @sarahshermansamuel found that Alessandro Bussana coffee table on @sothebyshome , I was like OH YES.

I want to finish this little living room corner tour with the art - I only put my own art in my studio upstairs, but in the house I love to feel inspired by other artists. I had found these @marniegilder years ago and ordered them and then went from apartment to apartment without ever finding the perfect spot to hang them. I was so happy when we finally did!
