the day is clear and incredibly cold, pockets of snow remain in the hollows by the brook and along the north side of the barn. But still, it’s hard to imagine only a few days ago the world was covered in this beautiful snow for now the green tufts of grass are revealed again and I could almost be convinced that spring was lurking just over the hill

we bundled up against the cold and turned our faces south into what scraps of warmth the sun could provide and happily set out, people babies and dogs on a meander around town and an especially good ogle of all my favorite houses .
