The Great Wall Marathon, world’s toughest: held annually since 1999, it now attracts 2,500 runners from over 50 nations. It takes about 4 hours for the best marathoners to cross the finish line, compared to the 2 hours to run the 26 mile coarse in Boston or New York. In this section near the top of Heartbreak Hill, the steepest part, no one is running its 45 degree angled, 3600 steps, it becomes more like the Great Wall walk. #greatwallmarathon #marathonrunner #greatwallofchina #huangyaguan @thesilkroadjourney
