@ASEAN was formed 51 years ago, with peace and prosperity as founding principles. Since then, this political objective has expanded into economic cooperation and integration.
ASEAN’s economy holds promise. ASEAN will become the 4th largest economy in the world by 2030, after the US, China, and the EU. Our workforce is young, growing and educated. But to realise our potential, we must strengthen ASEAN economic cooperation and integration.
The AEC Blueprint 2025 will enable ASEAN businesses to operate more seamlessly across the region. We should also do our best to conclude the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). I encourage all ASEAN members to work hand-in-hand to make our vision of an “innovative and resilient ASEAN” a reality for all! (MCI Photos by Kenji Soon)
