Painted in the final year of his life, ‘Mannequin’ is one of Paul Klee’s very last works.

Klee and his family fled Nazi Germany for Switzerland in 1933 and his final years were dogged by ill health. But from 1937, he embarked on a rich and productive late period, of which ‘Mannequin’ is a beautiful example.
