‘Mein Bruder– Bergingenieur (My Brother– The Mining Engineer)’ is one of the great Expressionist portraits of proletarian workers that Conrad Felixmüller made in the early 1920s.

The title of the work refers not only to the brotherly feeling Felixmüller felt towards all those he admired in the mining towns of the Ruhr, but also to his brother Helmut, who reportedly served as the model for this portrait.
