This little bronze monkey by François-Xavier Lalanne is one of six works previously owned by Brad Gray – the former Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures – offered in our Design auction in New York.

Lalanne once worked as a guard at the Louvre, Paris, and spent hours studying the collection of Egyptian artefacts. From monkeys and cats, to rhinoceroses and hippopotami, the influence of this time is evident throughout his sculptural pieces.
