We’re busy preparing for our European Sculpture and Works of Art auction in Paris. Here’s a sneak peek of our specialist Isabelle d’Amécourt (@isabelle.damecourt) with ‘Standing child carrying a bow and quiver’, by the workshop of François Duquesnoy.

The workshop of Rome-based Flemish sculptor, François Duquesnoy, established the Baroque archetype of plump putti and cherubic infant Christs. Duquesnoy worked alongside Bernini and Algardi, and his models influenced artists throughout 17th-century Europe. It’s no wonder his nickname was ‘fattore di putti‘ or ‘The Putti-Maker’.
