This June, our London galleries will embrace the raw and irrepressible urban energy of an early masterpiece by #JeanMichelBasquiat. ‘New York, New York’ is alive with the talented young spirit of the celebrated #contemporarymaster, and despite its early date, features several of the motifs that came to embody his oeuvre: two three-point crowns stand out among scrawls of graffiti, and from the landscape of divergent marks, signs and symbols emerge the impending skyscrapers of #NewYork’s famous skyline.
