One of the leading contemporary artists of our time, #MichelangeloPistoletto was a key figure in the development of Arte Povera, and is now highlighted by two knock-out works in our upcoming Contemporary art evening sale. These career-defining Mirror Paintings, Amanti (Lovers) and Tenda blu (Blue Curtain), redefined the static perception of painting and challenged the deliberate involvement of the spectator. Last seen in 1967, Amanti (Lovers) is one of only two works from Pistoletto’s Amanti series to appear at auction and could set new records.
