During my visit to Govtech @ HIVE yesterday, the team wanted to test my coding skills, and set me a (very) simple task - to change one line of text on a web portal. It’s been a while, but I managed to do it!
Was briefed on creative @govtechsg projects with useful real-world applications, including Parking.sg and the new HDB resale portal. We also had a spirited discussion on building tech talent, including how to attract Singaporeans working overseas to come back and contribute to our #SmartNation journey.
Dr Goh Keng Swee once said that it is better to have to restrain a stallion than to prod an unwilling mule. I got the feeling I was among stallions in GovTech @ HIVE. We will give them every encouragement and support to do their best, so that the Government can serve Singaporeans better and more smartly. – LHL (MCI Photo by Chwee)
