President Trump sharply condemned racist, white supremacist and neo-Nazi sympathizers on Aug. 14 after nearly two days of bipartisan criticism over his response to the weekend unrest in #Charlottesville, Va. “Racism is evil and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups,” Trump said. The White House had faced mounting pressure for Trump to explicitly condemn hate groups and white supremacists following his televised remarks on Saturday, during which he called out the “egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.” ⠀⠀
