Here’s the thing: I’ve never had a hard time writing Instagram captions. The hard thing I face is stopping myself in mid-sentence like, “is this too vulnerable?”, or “will people even relate?” As a writer, this is my greatest challenge. I worry that I may not resonate with a large majority of people, or that I may never serve my gist justice. And while my account is primarily based on self-expression, I do find beauty in connectivity. I want my heart to pour through yours and to make impact. I want to see a domino effect of kindness. Compassion. An unconditional embodiment of strength. To this, I’ve been able to simmer my fear down and concentrate on these principles first and foremost.
If one, and only one person reads my captions like music, or finds themselves in a string of words I’ve spoken here or there.

then the domino falls. and that is a glorious impact.
