I have accepted Mdm Halimah Yacob’s resignation from @papsingapore. She has also stepped down as MP and Speaker of Parliament, in order to stand as a candidate for President.

I have known Halimah for two decades. She has not made this decision lightly. She was a firm and fair Speaker of Parliament. She has served Marsiling residents and the Malay/Muslim community with all her heart. Halimah has the passion and commitment to serve Singapore, and I wish her all the best.

I will soon appoint replacements to the various responsibilities she has relinquished, and will make sure that Marsiling residents continue to be well taken care of. – LHL (May Day Rally 2015./ Photo by me)
