Goats have long been a popular subject of videos and memes. But in the past few years, a swell of fun-loving billys has moved into backyards, living rooms and hastily-built barns — and, naturally, onto Instagram. Scout Raskin, a former child actress who owns 2 goats, put it this way: “Goats are hot these days.” @goatsofanarchy, a New Jersey rescue for goats with special needs, is a mecca for softhearted goat lovers. @leanimal73 started the rescue in 2015. She’d left her job as an event planner in Manhattan and moved to rural New Jersey, where she adopted 2 rescue goats. The herd has since grown to 52. Now, it’s a haven for animals that have lost limbs, were abused or have congenital disorders. @leanimal73 funds the rescue mostly through donations — aided by @goatsofanarchy on Instagram, where she posts videos and photos of her brood. (That includes Polly, a blind goat with anxiety; Grace, who was abused by teenagers; and Pocket, who wears prosthetics.)
