take me back to our saturday night dinner under misty summer skies in the shadow of our big old barn. we dragged a table and chairs outside, lay out a few tablecloths (I liked the mixed pattern and textures) lit candles poured wine and sunk into the evening - relaxed and easy with a change of scenery- of course there were cheeses and the rest came from the garden or the local farmstand or bakery - leafy green salads, tiny green beans, summer corn and gorgeous gazpacho made by my mum - we sat until the rain drops made the candles fizzle and the glasses were empty and it was rather too dark to see - so we moved it inside for slices of plum galette and buttermilk ice cream - it's evenings like this that bring me the truest delight
