it smells of sun warmed pine needles and river water - summer in Vermont.
dislodging all those reasons I love this place and unfolding them in realtime before me.
filtered sunlight through great old trees down onto clumps of luffing ferns. Clear clean water, shallow this time of year, tumbling over polished river rock and of course all the gorgeous old front porches my eyes can drink in
it's a simple unadorned sort of beauty but it's palpable and infectious
