Buongiorno from a very hot Rome! The heat here is frustrating in a strange way. I had experienced temperatures above 40' C (100' F!), in Tehran. I remember this time of the year we had final terms exams at university, and it never felt this bad. So my productivity level is getting is close to zero these days, which is unforgivable since I have deadlines to meet. So I daydream about the abundance of figs in my beloved Puglia in south of Italy. (Btw, figs, melons, ham, cheese and other sort of cold, uncooked food is the only thing I eat at home these days.) Speaking of Puglia, and my ever-growing love for chillier seasons, have you check out the workshop @emikodavies, @alicekiandra.adams and I are doing in the beautiful @masseriapotenti at the end of October (26-29)? #ThePugliaEncounter is a homage to "food, lifestyle and photography in Italy's deep south", in which we will spend three days cooking, taking photos and styling. We will also go on an excursion to nearby Grottaglie to discover the artisan ceramics and local cheesemakers. We will take a wander through nearby fields and pick vegetables out of the garden to prepare meals and set the table. There will be delicious, traditional meals prepared by the cooks of the Masseria – and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the Masseria in between.
