Often people say that walking in #Rome feels like walking in a museum with no ceiling. While that is very true, the actual museums in Rome are very breathtaking as well.
@lagallerianazionale (d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea) has been through many changes of branding, communication, restyling and curation since my last visit many years ago. The museum hosts some precious artworks by the most important artists of the 19th and 20th century. From Courbet to Giacomotti, Mondrian to Monet, Van Gogh to Moholy-Nagy, Duchamp and many more.

What is remarkable is that the collection is not displayed in a chronological order. Instead, the fil rouge that connects the works in each room is in the concept and subject of each artwork. For example you in one hall you can see neo-classicist sculptures from the mid 1800s, next to early 20th century avant-gardes and post modern works, all linked with the theme of nature and mythology.

If you come to Rome, and you're a passionate of arts, you shouldn't miss this museum. Not to mention the palace of the museum, that faces the gardens of Villa Borghese is extraordinary.
Thanks @lemeridienrome for the guided tour of the museum, and the amazing day for the re-opening of Visconti palace.
