Time for round two, as our day sale of #Impressionist & Modern art in #London is set to begin… Illustrated here is a magnificent row of #poplar #trees standing on the edge of the #river Eure in #Normandy as painted by Gustave #Loiseau in 1899. This enchanting and wonderfully evocative composition is imbued with the soft rose light of a late #summer’s afternoon as a gentle breeze rustles the uppermost leaves of the trees. Owned by Durand-Ruel at several junctures in its history, this painting has remained in the same family since it was last publicly exhibited in 1965. #SothebysImpMod #GustaveLoiseau
