The old and the new. The past and the present. Sometimes I wonder if it's possible to create a new life and be reborn without throwing away and demolishing the past. There are people that I love deeply that have been consumed by the forward momentum of life. As friends we drifted apart in search of healing, as colleagues we split to follow different paths. Today, I feel pensive and reflective. I feel like I'm standing at a crossroads in my life, like there are some pieces of my past and hints of my future, but I'm just there balanced between, with a fuzzy view of both. There's a sense of where I've been and who I've traveled with, but there is also a sense of where I'm yet to go with just an intimation of what's yet to come. I wake up each day and ask myself who I am and why I'm here. Some days I have the answers, and some days I don't. And I am ok with that. Because if I had all the answers I'd end up being boxed in by certainty. Let me stand in the crossroads of uncertainty and get comfortable with insecurity. Let me turn over control and operate in faith. Let me experience life fully, balanced between open-hearted innocence and thoughtful wisdom. Let my spirit know no bounds, let me dream of miracles with childlike faith, let give myself to the dream of love with reckless abandon again and again and again. ?
