Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that kale is one of the healthiest foods you can eat. It’s right up there with other nutrient-rich cruciferous veggies like cabbage, bok choy, cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts (kale yeah!). One of my favorite ways to enjoy this leafy green is to blend it up with fruit and sip away to good health.

I love adding kale to my smoothies, but if you're new to the green smoothie lifestyle, you should know that it can have a strong taste. That's why, in this recipe, we’ve included a little fresh lemon juice to tame the flavor. (Still not a fan of kale in my your smoothies? Give baby kale a try! Baby kale is milder in flavor, but is still packed with nutrients!).

AVO BANANA KALE | Serves 2

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups kale, fresh
2 cups water
3 bananas
1/4 avocado
Juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Blend kale and water until smooth.
2) Next add the remaining fruits and blend again.
