A large dusky shark rushes through a baitball of sardines. Swimming in unison, the fish stick together and....this time successfully evade the charge. Photographing a baitball at close range is both a exhilarating and unnerving experience. I know I am NOT on the menu, but am treated just like any other shark attending this sardine banquet...I am head-butted, tail slapped and body slammed a dozen times every minute. To make good images during such chaos one has simply get on with the task at hand and trust the sharks not to make a mistake.
