A humpback whale punches through the ocean's surface after bubble netting. This behavior involves a pod of whales swimming under a school of fish and releasing a rising circular curtain of bubbles which traps the herring. The whales then ascend vertically mouth agape to feed on the fish. Shot in the Pacific Ocean off Canada's Great Bear Rainforest, one of the few places left on earth where a wild landscape meets a wild ocean. #greatbear #whales #cetacealab @pacificwild @saveourseasfoundation
